When it comes to terrorism, what does it actually mean? According to the Oxford dictionary, it has the following meaning: the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims. And shifting the discussion to the religion, Islam, it is a peaceful religion which came into existence fourteen hundred years back, as its history ratifies. The fact of Islam being a nonviolent religion is of no qualm as, the last Prophet, Muhammad (PBUH), who played the chief role in preaching and spreading Islam, possessed a flawless and noble character. Even many non-Muslims consider him the best person who ever entered the earth. And he, together with his companions constituted the perfect ever community on earth. So aren’t then Islam and terrorism antonyms? Things of overt contradiction? Then why has the world incorporated them to synthesis a term called Islamic terrorism? Here are the clarifications.
The world has binary divisions, Muslims and non-Muslims. Out of the eight billion residents of the globe, one-fifth belongs to the former while the rest make up the latter. And it is a statement of no doubt that people are embracing Islam with increasing speed and so the followers of Islam are cumulative. Therefore, it is the factor of envy that is forcing non-Muslims to defame the rapidly growing faith. The smoothest way is to carry out a catastrophe or a massacre and blame Muslims for it. Consequently, the phrase ‘Muslims are terrorists’ has gained immense popularity and is now the slogan of the non-Muslims in order to denounce Muslims. Isn’t it ridiculous? If all the Muslims were terrorists, killing unbelievers, then the latter would have shrunk to a minority or probably would have seized to exist! Let’s highlight some of the recent carnages and figure out who is behind them. Firstly, the curfew imposed by the tyrant Modi government in Jammu and Kashmir is against Muslims but not by Muslims, where the residents of the disputed territory are deprived of fundamental human rights and are experiencing agony at the hands of Indian Armed forces. This combined with the Muslim massacre in Delhi, where the death toll scrabbled fifty when they were protesting against the biased Citizenship Law, proves that non-Muslims are terrorists, not Muslims. Thereafter, other examples of terrorism come from Syria, Burma, Myanmar, and Palestine, where Muslims are being tortured by non-Muslims and the global authorities which are capable of taking action to secure Muslims have become statues, who indirectly form partner in crime with the tyrants. Moreover, the holocaust at the Christchurch Mosque was committed by an Australian non-Muslim where Muslims were targeted.
Hence, the famous phrase that ‘Muslims are terrorists’ should be corrected and uttered this way, ‘Muslims are victims of terrorists’.
